Komodo National Park in Indonesia was founded in 1980 and was named a World Heritage Site as well as a Man and Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1986. The park was founded to help with conservation efforts for the unique Komodo dragon (Varanus komodoensis). Since then conservation goals have grown to protecting its entire habitat, both marine and terrestrial. The Komodo National Park includes 1,817 square kilometers of amazing land and marine wild life, including the islands of Komodo, Rinca, Padar, and Gili Montagne and the waters that surround them. The most prominent land attraction on the Komodo Dancer LiveAboard cruise will be an encounter with the world’s largest exotic lizard - the rare Komodo Dragon.

Getting To Your Cruise:

The Komodo National Park, Indonesia is part of the Republic of Indonesia which is located 8 - 9 degrees south of the equator between Java Indonesia and Lombok Indonesia and the rest of the Lesser Sunda Islands Indonesia.
Flights land in Bali Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) in Denpassar Indonesia: Cathay Pacific, China Air, Continental Airlines, Singapore Air and Thai Airlines. An overnight in a Bali hotel is required before boarding a domestic flight to Labuan Bajo in the morning where you will board the Komodo Dancer.

Reaching the Komodo Dancer involves a domestic flight from Bali to Komodo Airport near the city of Labuan Bajo (LBJ) on Flores Island in the East Nusa Tenggara province in Indonesia. The Komodo Dancer departs at 1:00 pm. Guests should arrange to take one of the two available morning flights. Wouldn't want anyone missing their trip!

Airport Transfers:

Once you have claimed your luggage in Labuan Bajo Airport, look for an agent holding a Komodo Dancer sign or a sign with your name on it. This Komodo Dancer service is available to guests who arrange this transfer in advance.

The Komodo Dancer aims to return to port on the eve¬ning prior to disembarkation. Final disembarkation will oc¬cur between 8:00 am –1:00 pm at the end of the charter. Guests will be transported to the Labuan Bajo airport for a domestic flight back to Bali.

Diving Environment:
• Reknown colorful coral reefs and plentiful marine life
• All dives from tender
• Water temperatures can vary within the park ranging from a 72F (22C) in the south to 84F (29C) in the northern region
• 5 mm wetsuit with hood and reef hook are recommended

Rupiah (IDR) is the official currency. It is required for all guests to have some local currency because departure taxes and overweight baggage charges MUST be paid in local currency. Each passenger is required to pay an airport tax at check in, which can only be paid in local currency. The Bali Domestic Airport Tax (DPS) is 40.000 Ru¬piahs, the Bali International Airport Tax is 150,000 Rupiahs and the Labuan Bajo Airport Tax (LBJ) is 11.000 Rupiahs.

Land transfers between the airport, hotel and yacht (3 transfers in total are 1 in Bali and 2 in Labuan Bajo). Transfer in Bali is only provided for guests staying around the Kuta/ Sanur/ Denpasar area.
